Matti Feigelstock

DIRECTOR

 

Co-Program Director at The Bayit and Youth and Family Therapist.

Matti is a certified Youth and Family counselor and is currently a Program Director at “The Bayit”.

Already at a young age, Matti was an active volunteer within the Jewish community. She directed outreach programs for youth and kids and dedicates much of her time to help others. She moved all the way from Israel to Vancouver with a strong desire to help the Jewish community grow and flourish.

In the past 15 years, Matti has been running and managing successful social community programs and initiatives. She hosts and welcomes people into her home and teaches Jewish philosophy to women.

Matti graduated BCIT with a Business Management Certificate and obtained a Counseling certificate from VCCT. This education helped her develop exceptional organizational and communication skills. These skills, together with her innate love for people and an open ear, are being put to good use in her work with Mamatefet, where she is organizing and planning inspiring events and working to strategically develop and establish Mamatefet as a recognized organization.

Matti currently lives in Richmond and is a wonderful mother to 6 beautiful children.

Tamara Halamish

DIRECTOR

Doula

 

Tamara is a registered doula, a classic homeopath and one of the original founding members of Mamatefet NPO.
Her past experiences also include organizing new projects and working closely with special needs people and their families. 

Since arriving in Vancouver four years ago, Tamara has been a passionate advocate; establishing, building and strengthening the Jewish community. She spends much of her free time welcoming new arrivals, answering any questions they may have and helping them get settled in their new homes. She also leads many social media groups that are used to help women settle into Vancouver, make them aware of upcoming events and provide general support through visits and homemade meals. 

As a doula whom is passionate about women and birth, Tamara founded and is still leading the Pregnant Women Circle for more than two years now. Through the group, she supports pregnant women and their families before, during and after birth as well as new mothers and their families who are in crisis.

Tamara is a major asset to the Jewish community of Vancouver and her dedication and love for helping others has forever changed the lives of many Israelis.

Lilach Golan

DIRECTOR

Postpartum support

 

Lilach is an experienced and professional educator. She holds a BED in Education from Oranim College, Haifa, has trained under the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA), and successfully completed the OISE Principals Qualification Program Part 1 at University of Toronto.

Lilach has extensive experience working with children, teachers, and parents. She worked in Toronto for 13 years in various Jewish day schools as a Director and Coordinator of Hebrew and Jewish Studies. This work allowed her to develop and practice her exceptional organization, human relations, and management skills.

Additionally, Lilach took on a very active role in Toronto's Jewish community, and participated in numerous committees and conferences that focused on strengthening Jewish identity and Jewish leadership in the Diaspora.

 

In 2016 she was trained as a postpartum doula and joined Mamatefet following her move from Toronto to Vancouver. Here she dedicates her time to building up, strengthening, and supporting women. Lilach helps create a warm and embracing community for women as she leads and organizes gatherings for the new mothers and baby group at Mamatefet.
